Yesterday's News Poem by Leslie Kavanagh

Yesterday's News

Rating: 1.0

The smoke fills her lungs
She hates the smell
Rage in his eyes
Its long gone to hell

Gasping for air, and tears leave her eyes
Yesterday's news, yet still she cries

Demand in his voice
Do it or lose it all
The confidence she once wore
Grips the tears and falls.

Gasping for air, and tears leave her eyes
Yesterday's news, a tangle of lies

Love turns desperate
To feel anything
She longs to fly
He clipped her wings

Gasping for air, and tears leave her eyes
Yesterday's news, slowly she dies.
