when I fell, your strength kissed my bruises
when I got lost, your promises brought me home
when I forgot who I was, your reflection reminded me
when I reached for you, you pulled your hand away
you find your way into my head, your echo penetrates my dreams
your words, your laugh, your spirit still lay next to me while I sleep
you chose a different path to travel down because taking me with you would be like taking all
your money to the grave……..it does no good to anyone, especially the one
you’re trying to save
I’ll keep everything you left, the baggage you couldn’t take with you
I’ll continue to walk thru the doors you opened
I’ll be disappointed that I don’t hear your voice when I call for you, but
I’ll never turn my back on you………..the smile your memory brings is irrevocable
You gave me the bricks, I built a home
You planted the seeds, I grew a tree
You disappeared, I held on as tightly as you held onto me
In your love, my salvation lies
