Would I Be Perfect? Poem by Erika Peace

Would I Be Perfect?

Would i be perfect if my name was different?
Would i be perfect if my parents were someone else?
Would i be perfect if my race was different?
Would i be perfect if i had straighter and longer hair?
Would i be perfect if my eyes were another color?
Would i be perfect if i was taller?
Would i be perfect if i was wider?
Would i be perfect if i was lighter?
Would i be perfect if i didn't make simple mistakes?
Would i be perfect if i was fake?
Would i be perfect if i gave up my own perfection?
Would i be perfect if i told my true confessions?
Would i be perfect if i didn't have my flaws?
Would i be perfect if i were as free as the midnight air?
Would i be perfect if i let the world see my tears?
Would i be perfect if i let my fears show?
Would i be perfect if i had someone beside me to hold my hand?
Would i be perfect if i heard i was beautiful every time i walked out the door?
Would i be perfect if i ate too much or ate too littlle?
Would i be perfect if i gave into societies criticism?
Would i be perfect if my choices were brighter?
Would i be perfect if i wore my clothes tighter?
Would i be perfect if i was imperfect?
Would i be perfect if i wasn't me?

beautifully written, and completely honest and to the point. Here is the secret tho: you are perfect. And only people who embrace that every little thing that makes them different from anyone else, also makes them perfect, are able to stand tall and say 'I AM PERFECT' without being arrogant. You are a perfect being, exactly as you need to be right now, at this very moment in time.
