World War One Poem by Anders Lim

World War One

Rating: 4.6

Flames of terror
Strikes of doom
A dispossessed land filled with utter gloom

Load your guns
Extend your shield
Survive the bloody combat field

Lower your gun
Reload it once more
Before you die in a pool of blood and gore

Great weapons
Greater men
Greatest of all stood patriots of the land

Die in honor
Die in pride
Die for the ones you hold deep inside

Sacrifice your life
Forfeit your soul
Let your country take control

For how long more
Can I sustain
I’ve cheated death over and over again

Thoughts of fear
Will they quench
The shadow of death sweeps over this trench
