Word, World, War Poem by tabasom azadee

Word, World, War

He told me love can never change world
and I told him but it can change word
war to peace
failure to success,
and upsetness to happiness
he laughed at me
and packed up his gun
And went to war to expand the boundary of his country
and I picked up my pencil to expand the boundary of my heart
he was killed in the war,
and I will write until my death
I enjoy writing
and I will never understand
why he enjoy war!

(cont.) in my poems i almost always capitalize and punctuate as i was taught to do while writing prose. you have not done that, and lots of poets don't do it. many capitalize the first letter of each line. i don't mind that if it is consistent throughout the poem. you are inconsistent in your capitalization and use of punctuation. but i read the poem with little trouble. to MyPoemList. bri ;)

(cont.) war to peace fail to success war is, i think, usually used as a noun, as is peace and success, but i feel fail is always a verb and i think you should use the noun failure. i just noticed: add a 2nd s to happiness! i don't agree with some of the poem, but i like it as a poem. (cont.)

(cont.) if you are writing poems to be used as song lyrics, you may fashion your words to how you feel they will appeal to the singers and listeners. certainly not all poems should be assumed to be the truth, nor/or the true feelings of the lyricist/poet. (CONT.)

(cont.) Or, did he go to war as you say to expand the boundary of his country? I think many fighters don't feel strongly one way or the other about why they are fighting, but do it because they are told to do it aka 'made to do it'. this is a huge subject to discuss. i'm no expert, and i'm too busy anyway. i like these lines especially: And went to war to expand the boundary of his country and I picked up my pencil to expand the boundary of my heart he was killed in the war, and I will write until my death these are fine lines, but there is more to consider here than just these words. you write later that he enjoy war (i'd say enjoyed) . but DID he enjoy it?
