Word - Poem by Cigeng Zhang

Even though I have
the most affectionate heart for you
I pick the simplest word to tell you
A simple word
is worth a thousand pieces of gold
As long as we say it out
It is not simple
Especially the word

You are highlighting the very essence of meaning in a poem which is the individual word. And you prove this by putting your chosen word alone in capitals on a line - twice. That made me pause, because the sentences clustered around those two highlighted appearances show its application is vexed even though its meaning is clear. And your want your reader to appreciate this. (Just to the right of my comment PH has a list of RELATED POEMS, One is Shelley's ONE WORD TOO OFTEN PROFANED. He meant the word LOVE! He supports your POV.) (Report) Reply

Thanks for your nice comment. In my eyes, some words are promises, heavy, hard to realize.

Lovely poem, I really like the pretext you've woven into it. (Report) Reply
