Wonderful World Poem by Jesse Artley

Wonderful World

Rating: 5.0

It's a wonderful world right?
Oh, what a beautiful place.

Parents are too scared to ask for help
Would much rather take it out on their kids,
It's ok though, you didn't know what to do, right?

Birth control, condoms, and abortions for kids
What happened to swings and slides?
Changing times for a changing society, so they say

Such a magical world, absolutely peaceful
Where dreams come true and no one ends up alone.

Our soldiers go to war, some make it home
What we don't know is they're never fully back
Couldn't control the situations, take it out on themselves

I sit back; try to be the best I can
You stroll through, turn my best into dirt
Glad to know my life wasn't worth a held breath

Do you still see a beautiful world?
Where love never picks up and walks away

Maybe one day you'll all see
This isn't where I wanted to be
Trying to live with your expectations is killing me

Thing is, I'm not the only one, living in failure
There are kids everywhere that feel exactly like I do
Except for them there is no tomorrow to hope for, anymore

Oh, how wonderful of a world
Maybe it starts after me.
