Won The Bet Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Won The Bet

Won the bet

Another confession
-similar and apart
-from those many times!

Possibly brainless
-I am man of plains
-and mountains…

Stubborn!
Stubborn!
Stubborn!

Meaning to have showed off
-went to wash the tea-set
-of my aunt…

The stones rolled in the stream
-and broke one saucer
-I left all and escaped
-searched for asylum
-hid in dark of a barn
-grannies', abandoned
-to avoid laughter, shame…

I slept in big chest
-half-worn, old, of ages
-in it was straw and snake
-which caused me an scare
-and fear…

Ran away and hid me
-underneath podium
-of a mosque
- (to be found and was found…)

Stubborn!
Stubborn!
Stubborn!

Then, early in my teens
-made a bet to lay me
-for at least ten minutes
-in frost, water, ice…
- (of Darband's stream…)
-Won small Canada Dry; my skin crocodile's!
