Women of colour,
You will one day live to laugh,
You will one day look at the mirror and
realize that being light or dark does not define what you are.

Women of colour,
You are more than just your pretty faces and beautiful sculpted bodies.
You are full of substance,
You are full of wisdom and knowledge,
You are greatness.

Women of colour,
Your skin is beautiful,
But you are more than that,
You are my inspiration,
You are my story,
You are my role model.

Women of colour,
If They call you a blackwhore,
If they call you ugly and a monkey
If they laugh at the fullness of your lips,
If they laugh at the largeness of your breast and the roundness of your backside,
And if they tell you that you will never be the face of the future.
Laugh because you know that those are words of hate and you are what they wish to become.

Women of colour,
You are more than just your complexion,
You are more that just your physical appearance,
You are my mother,
You are my sister,
You are my grandmother,
you are my inspiration.
