I Who Owns Nothing But A Land Poem by morris rebecca

I Who Owns Nothing But A Land

I have nothing,
Not a mother to love me,
Not a man to hold me.
Not my children to be there for me.

I have nothing,
Not a house to sleep in,
No riches,
No food to eat.

I have nothing,
But the marks he left on me.
The scares to remind me of a man who didn't love me.

I have nothing,
No education,
No land of my own,
No hair on my head.
No teeth in my mouth.

I have nothing but the cries of my ancestors.
I have their pride,
I live with their pain,
I have their struggles,
I have their names in my heart.

I have nothing,
But my words,
I have my dreams and goals,
I have the complexion of my roots.
I have nothing but i have got tradition and respect fro my mother land Africa.
