Without Poem by Josh Burnett

Without

I stand here waiting for you to show
Broken down I crawl along
Looking for a life to save my own
But the hand is never there
Because nobody cares
I don't know how I got here
I need you to show me the way

I can't face my life without looking into your eyes
I feel as if my heart beat could die inside
I can't face what I am without holding your hand
Because I know that I won't understand
What my future could hold
If I don't have you anymore

Reaching up I try to touch your face
But my hand is blocked and I wake from my sleep
I can hear your voice speaking out to me
I can't hear the words that you try to speak
And I'm lost inside my mind left to think
I know that you are out there searching
I don't scream afraid you won't be able to hear me

I can't face my life without looking into your eyes
I feel as if my heart beat could die inside
I can't face what I am without holding your hand
Because I know that I won't understand
What my future could hold
If I don't have you anymore

Tell me why does the pain make the eyes cry?
Why does the pain break the smile off the face?
No matter how hard we search there is not the grace
Where is your hand to pick me up to be saved?

I can't face my life without looking into your eyes
I feel as if my heart beat could die inside
I can't face what I am without holding your hand
Because I know that I won't understand
What my future could hold
If I don't have you anymore
