With The Enemy She Slept Poem by Randy McClave

With The Enemy She Slept

A promise was not kept
A promise was sadly broken,
When alone I had awoken
With the enemy again she had slept.

Once again I sadly wept
I felt so humiliated and betrayed,
For her, us I then again prayed
When with the enemy she had proudly slept.

From my soul my faith leapt
When with me, she decidedly was not,
I remember all the worries fought
With the enemy she had confidently slept.

Like dirt my emotions were swept
My feelings were then erased,
My heart was also misplaced
When with the enemy she had peacefully slept.

With my head bowed I slowly crept
Someone else got the win,
She now wears a uncaring grin
When with the enemy she had happily slept.

I felt so hurt and inept
When she, they passed me by
I wasn't given a smile or an arrogant, "hi! "
With the enemy she had boastfully slept.

These facts I must now accept
It was either going to be him or me,
I so wanted the victory
But, with the enemy she had wantonly slept.
