Winter Poem by Noor Shihadeh

Winter

Winter stop howling at me
Stop beating at my windows
Your cold hands touch my heart
Making it unbearable for me to move
Look how you make me breathe like a dragon
How many layers of clothes must I wear?
Just to be in your presence.
Brrrr Brrrr!

Winter stop biting at me
Let the sun in to warm the day
You have outstayed your welcome
Your blanket of snow covers the Earth.
Your fingers of ice clasp the roof of our house
Your mists seize the morning skies
Wake up winter and MOVE AWAY!
Brrrr Brrrr!
