A Strange Thing Poem by Noor Shihadeh

A Strange Thing

Rating: 4.5

I've found a strange thing,
Think it must have come from the sky,
For I found out it flying outside in the garden
But I can tell you now that it can't be a fly.

I fed it on many things, tried grass,
Chocolate, bananas, biscuits,
But it stared up at me as if
It was saying, please feed me,
Please feed me.

It then made a beautiful web among the dull dark shed,
Not like a spider's, but its rich golden silkiness
That made it shimmer the only shine and wonder in the old, forgotten Place.

If you believed in it I would share
My secrets with you,
I will show this magical creature
And we'll give it a name.
We'll live with it forever and ever
Until it would leave one day,
Fly up into the sky,
And never return again
