Window Poem by Tiffany Walters

Window

She has angel eyes that seem to crystallize
The essence of her light
I can see inside her crystal eyes
The reflection of what feels right
What I see is what should be, truth buried deep within
The irresistible force versus the immovable object
Our eyes never close, we never give in

The window to her soul
The winds of time have taken their toll
Her light shines for release from beneath
The undertow, the depths I only begin to see

Forever in her eyes a fire burns like a beacon
A light of truth and of hope
She stands alone entranced in her vision
I stand alone enraptured by her mission
Our destinies twist like a helix and head toward collision

I stare into the window of her soul
The winds of time have taken their toll
Her eyes burn for release to be free
Contrary to objection, I find her looking back at me

There's a window to my soul as well
So here's my all, my agony, my hell
An emptiness I mirror within these eyes
She can see even that which I disguise
With a mask of calm I don't really feel
She knows what's real, she has the strength to heal
She sees the future, she learns from the past
She's so perfect she's surreal

The window to her soul
The eyes I've followed like the stars I've been shown
The keys to happiness never lie alone
Those eyes could never turn me to stone
Those eyes like nothing I've ever known

Outside looking in the looking glass
The window to her soul
Outside in the cold I feel so all alone
But this feeling doesn't fade it grows
I stay my hand I bide my time
Careful not to lose my new partner in crime
My eyes meet hers in compromise
Bonded by our destinies as eternal allies.
