Children Poem by Tiffany Walters

Children

There is a deep, deep mine of untapped potential,
Within our children and so it is essential,
That we take seriously our duty of care,
When they need someone to listen, just be there.

Try to ensure they feel loved and protected,
And never ever abused or neglected.
They need to know that they can speak out,
And in some cases Scream, kick and shout.

They are not there to fulfill anyone's sick needs,
Or be subjected to horrendous deeds.
There is no such thing as secret special love,
And no child deserves a thump, kick or shove.

They need to be viewed as the gifts that they are,
And with a little encouragement they will go far.
They are the adults of tomorrow,
So let's give them a future free from sorrow.
