Wilted Flower Poem by Jason P Klingensmith

Wilted Flower

Rating: 5.0

A bud was planted
and a flower started growing.
It wasn't long after
it's true colors were showing.
After some time
the flower grew pale
from the love that was fading
and starting to fail.
It wasn't long after
the flower was dying.
No love for it to grow
there was no using trying.
The petals became wilted
and the leaves became worn.
Finally toppling over
it's life was torn.
It rotted away
and fell to the ground.
The pain was so great
it couldn't make a sound.
Now it's too peaceful
no life to live.
No love to receive
no love to give.
What was once a flower
gave me great gladness.
Now it's empty, gone forever
and all I feel is great sadness.

Loss of sunshine in a life at its lower levels is aptly captured in the poem. Well thought out and elegantly crafted with artistic brilliance. A beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing Jason.
