Willing To Sacrifice Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Willing To Sacrifice

A claim to make public,
Of discovering proof...
That evidence found,
Cures and prevents...
Illnesses to exist.
With them to magically disappear.
To then say had been,
Personally taken.
Yet refuses to have,
A dose of it seen administered...
In public.
Although confesses the doing,
Is absolutely true.
Either depends on the selling of it.
Or has an investment in the keeping,
Others convinced...
Tons of money can be made,
Easily.
By a doing to make many fools.

"If you have been taking it,
As you say for weeks to do.
Why have you not before,
Shared this 'miracle' with the people? "

-My heart is so big,
I had not given that a thought.-

"And...
You hold this proof as evidence of what? "

-My ability to be,
Thought as a martyr.
And above all,
Willing to sacrifice my life...
To do anything beneficial for the people.
With a restoring back a normalcy I miss.-

"You mean...
'They' miss."

-Yes!
And that too!
As quickly as possible! -
