Wide Awake Poem by Grant Lovell

Wide Awake

It's a shame, it had to be this way
Saying goodbye, like it's the only way
All those words that were never told
You said we're better off, I said not today

When we fell apart,
I heard a certain song.
And my heart sang along.
Like you and I did from the start

The glass isn't half empty
We still have plenty
It's our time, our time
To shine into the divine

We don't have to stay here
We can make this last
Let's for get the past
We have eachother, nothing to fear

Please don't separate us
I never knew we were falling through
I never saw the clues
Now, my eyes are wide awake
