Why Should I? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Why Should I?

Why should I?

You don’t care what I eat
You don’t care where I sleep
You take me in only
As slave; for working
What you say is a joke
Why should I give a damn?
(For your wife or your child
Or if thieves break in)
I pray things go bad
If bad comes I’ll give hand
I’ll be first to give keys
To the lads to steal
Let them come rob and kill
Who cares if I am killed?
I’m a cow anyway
Giving milk and skin
As hens, eggs, giving feather
And final
We’re in plates on table
