Why Do You Do This To Your Self Poem by Kellyn, A Grau

Why Do You Do This To Your Self

Why do you do this, a constant struggle you see
I want to be strong for you but I cant help you
You need to be the one to fix the broken pieces
There is only so much that I can do
I'm working on my happiness yet struggling
From your heart ache and spilling tears
I want to be there for you but at the same time
I can only show you what I all ready foresaw
I told you things would end up this way
It broke my heart to see my words were unheard
But I tried to help you fix your self but I cannot do that
You must learn it your self just as everyone tells me
No one can help you make the choices you make
No one can tell you what you have to do to be happy
But it breaks my heart to see you so sad
To know you were once happy and now it's all gone
Each day is like a struggle for you, a never-ending battle
Between wanting to live and wanting to die
But please understand that I care about you
A true friend I am and I shall remain by your side
But remember for once my worlds turning bright
I'm seeing the light for once in my darkest hour
My hearts starting to grow again even if you threw it away
I understand your loyalty but why do you do this to me
I love you to death but sometimes you still make me cry
I remember everything you told me and everything you said
I wish I could have made you listen and open up your eyes
But all I can say is at least I tried and I wont wait forever
I chose my path, but will you be stuck on the one you have chosen
I'm moving further and enjoying every step
While you fall deeper and your heart grows weaker
Did you forget that even though you hurt me
I am still your friend and should to cry on
You know how good I am at listing and giving advice
I wish you would understand how much it kills me
To here you say you wish your life was over
But again I will listen, even if it hurts me
Because I am born to listen and to hurt from it all
That has always been my fate, and possibly my own fall
