Why Poem by alicia white

Why

constantly thinking
never to be the same
tears fall
endlessly
just thinking of you

can't stop moving
can't let my mind wonder
can't let thoughts enter
can't let people know what i did

silence is golden
but not anymore
silence brings thoughts memories
that i can't handle
can't ignore can't fight off

surrounded by so many people
yet i still feel alone empty
why did i do this to you
why was i so selfish

why why why
why wasn't it me
that's all i ask anymore
why wasn't it me?

because because because you chose now our hearts like old cars sit in the yard on blocks abandoned maybe some day they’ll become classics to be cherished and loved again maybe

The poem reflects a strong feeling of guilt. A very wise man once told me: 'the ones that you love and that love you so much, are forgiving everything bad thing we do and every good thing we did not do for them automatically without us asking forgiveness'. Things may never be the same, so true, but with the knowing that you were forgiven, we can start to forgive ourselves as well. If we manage this, our bitter memories will slowly become something more sweet and enjoying whatever good our Creator has planned for us from here onwards will be possible.
