Who Died? Poem by Miss Grace

Left the world on his own will,
Hanging on the rope, dead and still
A person lost his life by his choice
This is story of a person who lost his voice

Parents are given condolences
People feel bad for them
They feel Parents lost all they had
I know that their lives will never be the same

But I never found a friend
Who would try to understand the dead
I mean I understand his actions don't seem right
But what about the words he never said

What about the day his parents had forced him to
Put down his dreams and take on theirs?
What about the day his parents didn't try to understand him
Instead had shut him down?
What about the day his parents made fun of him when he came out to them and talked about his depression?
What about the day his parents had slapped him and compared with a brighter child?

Weren't all these indications of a downfall?
How do expect these problems to be solved?
Do his parents deserve sympathy when somewhere they had killed him little by little?

To the friends who stay silent for a minute and move on
Do you remember him being alone?
Do you remember seeing him covering his wrists?
Do you remember spacing him out?
Do you remember you trying to talk to him?

It's ok if you not realised his state,
I mean I understand
But don't call him a coward
A person who kills himself isn't a coward
Cause I know and you know in your bones too
That when a person kills himself
The courage it takes is heartbreaking
The feeling of being trapped in an empty tunnel
With not rays of hope is heart wrenching

We don't blame the flower if it fails to bloom...
We change its environment to help it grow.

We lose many people in our daily lives
To the burdens they could not bear
We may not be able to do anything for them
But let's not repeat the same mistakes

Let's teach one and all about self love
Let one and all learn to take a stand for self
Let the parents let their child be what they want,
If not talk to them and not force

Let's hope the situations never force another one
To try to take their own life....
