White Phosphorus Attacks In The Ukraine (Italian Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

White Phosphorus Attacks In The Ukraine (Italian Sonnet)

The Police chief in Popasna, Oleksi Biloshytsky,
said Russians use onion bombs to set people alight,
of this phosphorus civilians have great fright,
as they do the deaths by ferocious burning see.

This is a war-crime, a Russian atrocity,
where during the Russian attacks at night
the Russian explosives burn brightly white.
Ukrainians want to be from the Russians free.

In Lutsk there was another attack with this
white phosphorus that do like onion smell,
where the entire airport was destroyed
and the bright and white flames no one can miss,
where aflame no one can escape the burning hell
and with atrocities the world is annoyed.
