Whiplash Poem by Robert Sheridan

Whiplash

Lash of love's whip
Abrupt, snapping
motion - dot the i
and cross the t;
received a heart
injury after another
roller-coaster ride;
resulted when I
was blindsided;
came in the form
of false promises;
now, should I go
backwards, or
forwards? Is that
rapid deceleration,
or slow acceleration?
I don't know - as the
whipping caused a
red welt - 'all's welt
that end's welt...'
Watch out! Sudden
female movement
up ahead...
