While Watching the Bum from My Balcony above the Sea
If I were to believe in a heaven, it would look like this:
Wet walls of water created by swirling storms
From the north and south
undulating over rock and sand.
If I were to believe in a god, it would know:
The rise and fall of the swells it made
That break down every one of its creations
Only to begin again at the end.
If I were to believe in you, you would
Watch the sinking sun melt into the meat of the sea
Dreaming of a vegetarian paradise
As the fish beneath your surface war amongst each other.
If I were to believe in heaven, it would look like this place.
