Where I'M From Poem Poem by anthony lapointe

Where I'M From Poem

I am from my star quilt, and from getting gum stuck in my hair, and eating ice cream
on a hot day
I am from the stucco house that built me
I am from the wind, the 6 o'clock alarm
I am from Indian Tacos, and Commodities
from Mariya and Mitchelle
I am from the I hate you's and the I love you's
from getting to bed on time and go ahead reach the stars
I am from he who restores my soul, and knows two
stories from the book
I am from Winner and moving place to place, From
fried potatoes and strong coffee
from the broken heart of my mother cries, the eye
my grandmother watch's over
I am from lost pictures, burned with my hate & a lost leaf from my family tree.
