Where I'M From Poem by talia nadira

Where I'M From

Rating: 4.8

I am from diverse landscapes,
from former prairies, grasslands, forest, and coastlines.
I am from coastal swamps and piney woods,
to rolling plains and rugged hills.

I am from the crops and cattle raisers,
from arrogant and proud.

I am from r&b and soul,
from Doo-wop to barbershop.
I am from the lilies of the field
and how they grow.

I am the salt of the earth,
the light of the world, a peacemaker.
I am from the arrows in the hand of a warrior.

You're very young and already a poet. That's lovely. I like the articulation of the poem. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
