Where Have All The People Gone Poem by Elizabeth Grant Price

Where Have All The People Gone

Fresh brewed coffee, shared smiles and laughter,
Good morning everyone, have a nice day,
See you after work, see you after school,
Will Mommy be home for my birthday,
Daddy don't forget, my game is today,
An everyday routine,
With love ones,
Shattered

Didn't see it coming, sudden crashes, flame and debris everywhere,
An enormous thunder roared, a rumble was heard, horrid screams,
Many numb cold and stun, confused in mind,
Think back, in yesterdays time

The Twins bowed so fast, crumbling till nothing was left,
Hear the pleading cries, whiles others fought tears,
And poured out love to those all gone

Angels by the thousands took flight on silver wings,
Love ones shook heads in woe for what is lost,
As the glorious Twins of Manhattan collapsed,

A Red White and Blue Flag waves in the breeze,
Rose petals fell like velvet tears over graves,
Floating down, making nary a sound
