Will she keep my name
Or allow her stars to keep the skies bright still

Or are you goin' to let her moon glide freely across the darkest of nights

Or cause not her sun to set at noon day

When you take my daughter from me
Are you goin' to allow her to keep my name
For t'is this name that's seen her through university

When you take my daughter from me
What will happen to my name
For with it, her brightness caught your attention

When you take my daughter from me
Will she keep my name still
For t'is this name that's taught her the fear of God

When you take my daughter from me
Will you give her you name ‘n drop mine
Then make sure you keep her till death do you part.
