When They've Felled Every Tree Poem by Raymond Farrell

When They've Felled Every Tree

When they've felled every tree
and hauled the logs away
leaving only tangled underbrush

When they've driven bobcat and lynx
into extinction and fond memory
shot the gray wold
and all his kin
and cowed the might grizzly bear

When man has become king in the wilderness
as in the city
unbridled terror
will then be unleashed
in the wilderness.
