Whither Bound? Poem by Raymond Farrell

Whither Bound?

When elected officials and those in law enforcement
Who have taken an oath to uphold the law
Decide to defy the law, it is to the country's detriment
When sedition is encouraged and even applauded
This ultimately leads to the abandonment of the rule of law
Historically, this result is never far behind and then
The outcome the instigators never desired or foresaw
Will be the loss of freedom and democracy
Because the resulting chaos will be the excuse required
For the clamp down by the powerful few
And the result, though by most undesired
Will bring an end to the rule of law.
