When The Devil Sends Charity Poem by Armadillo Poet

When The Devil Sends Charity

Recognize her
For the Angel that she is.

Do not turn her away
Out of the pride of your conscience.

For when the Devil sends Charity
Know He has already won.

Your secular vanity,
Brutishness,
Audacity,
Have all already laid the traps beset against you.

And in your mind aren't you already the sinner?

So when the Devil sends Charity
Know that He takes pity on a self-similar soul.

So take Her then
By the hips and part Her lips with your tongue:
Whispering ‘praise be to God',
That She's given so beautifully again.
