Why do you love someone who does not love you
Who to you could never be faithful and true
Of love many singers feel happy for to sing
But unrequieted love it is such a sad thing
Unrequieted love it can live on for years
And give rise to loveache and heartache and tears
It does seem an awful waste of energy
At least that's how it does seem to cynical me
He sits in the bar-room so lacking in cheer
Alone in the corner he sobs in his beer
The one he love him for another did forsake
She has left him feeling shattered his heart full of ache
And you will not find any quite as sad as he
When love is one way how hurtful it can be.
