When I Pray Poem by Francisca Darko

When I Pray

Rating: 5.0

When I pray,
I pray for the last dropp of snow
For the cute little button on the young doe's nose
For the last drip of chocolate on the mixing spoon
And for the top hat of the sun that vanishes for noon

When I pray,
I pray for the last leaf that falls
For the beautiful rainbow I might see after all
The raindrops that split, splatter and stream
And for the last invisible wisps of a good night's dream

When I pray,
I pray for the spring in my step
For the buds that remain closed, safe and kept
For the words that I write all over my page
And for the song that never ever grows with age

For the little things that come and go
For the special things that we might never know
For the great things that we let pass as by
And for the beauty that shouldn't have to say goodbye

This is an inspiring write. It was enchanting at the begining then became more reflective at the end. I think this is your best write so far. Great potential you have at such a young age.
