When I Grow Up Poem by Dianna Nally

When I Grow Up

If you want to make your dreams come true
you have to believe in you
Don't quit because things don't come easy
that's what quitters do.

You want to be an astronaut, go to school
including college
Because NASA takes only those with the knowledge.

Or maybe you'd like to fly a plane
Being a pilot's your dream
Concentrate and learn all you can
So that someday you will reach your destiny.

If you like to work closely with children
there are things you need to do.
There are childhood courses, so much to learn
But more importantly you have to believe in you.

You think maybe you'd like to fight fires
That's what most boys want to do.
But what if it's a girl's big dream
Could she fight fires too?

How about being a mom or a dad.
Think it's easy, Well it's not
Just try to discipline a child.
And someone will call a cop.

So what ever you choose to do with your life
you will have to give it your all.So be the best that you can be,
And hold your head up, and always stand tall.
