When I Consider All I Have Not Done Poem by Shalom Freedman

When I Consider All I Have Not Done

WHEN I CONSIDER ALL I HAVE NOT DONE

When I consider all I have not done
All I have tried and failed at in
In this world
When I consider all I would have been
And could not be
And all I dreamed
And could not make come true

Then I remember I am only one
Of many billions
Who God has placed in this world

And instead of blaming myself
And lamenting in guilt and self-pity

I simply thank God
For the many blessings in my life
And the years and opportunity
I had to try

Accepting that so many others greater than myself
Have done what I would have done and could not do
