When Christians Pray For Israel Poem by Denis Martindale

When Christians Pray For Israel

Behold the Scriptures old and new, God's mercies page by page,
Consider, too, the chosen few, encompassing each age.
Then think back on the miracle that Israel truly was,
Reflect upon the life of Paul and Christ upon His Cross.
Remember Pentecost as well, the day the Church was born,
The devil's kingdom to dispel, in tatters, battered, torn.
And with reminders such as these, for Israel we should pray,
For wealth and health, and precious peace, beyond the present day.

For young and old, for rich and poor, for wisdom, strength and love,
For signs and wonders by the score, if our prayers prove enough.
If not enough, pray more saints care, as surely as the Lord,
Until God answers prayer by prayer so Israel gets restored.
For on that day, the King of Kings will rule upon His Throne,
A thousand years of blessings brings to those He calls His Own.
Must Jesus ask His saints on Earth to pray for Israel, too?
Let those with love prove they deserve God's love by what they do.
