When Cares Were So Few Poem by Paul Reed

When Cares Were So Few

Is life just the eye of the storm

The exception not the norm

I never knew I was going to love you,

I remember when we all went everywhere as one

No choices, no stars to wish upon

When our cares were so few;

Now every day is not the future any more

Every option used up, shut every door

Why did you have to grow tall?

I wish we had stayed in the storm's eye

And let time just fly by

Without changing us at all.
