When All Is Done Poem by Dan Frank

When All Is Done

I don't know how to tell you that you didn't mean anything to me.
You never knew the real me.
I faked happiness whenever I was with you.
Everyone thought we were perfect.
They never knew that I hated you inside.
If I could take back those years, I would.
You were so happy.
You would have died if I left.
You're laying at my feet and the memories come flooding back.
I couldn't let you know that your life was a lie.
I wonder if you know that I won't be at your funeral.
