An unfinished poem
an unheard song
two pieces of art
just torn and thrown
I wonder how it sounded like
I wonder how the melody goes
I wonder what kind of notes
what kind of time signature
how long it is
or how short
what the name would be
if it tied together in harmony
I wonder if you wonder
what the piece of literature
said
what kind of message
how it rhymed
or if it even rhymed
or what metaphors were used
what kind of similes
how many stanzas there were
what it described
but I guess we'll never know
that
unfinished poem and
unheard song

I tend to think these very same thoughts when I think of all the wonderful music The Smiths could have continued to create if they could have found a way to work out all their differences! It is truly amazing when such talented people come together for such a short time but yet within that short time had accomplished so much and had the power to make so very many people of the world smile! : -)
