Reminiscing With Hope Poem by Justine Ramos

Reminiscing With Hope

Hey do you remember?

remember those times

where you would hug me from behind

where our lips would collide

like fireworks on the fourth of July

where we'd tell each other what was wrong

when life was a melodic song

your arm around my waist

your warm and tight embrace

the soothing smell of your cologne

the times where you were my own

but things change, I had to go

and this feeling...we can no longer show

we awkwardly said goodbye

it's like we didn't even try

that moment I felt like there was a stone in my chest

my heart spun and my stomach churned from north east and west

we were both too selfish, we couldn't let go

but now I can't imagine you calling anyone else your own

I hope you remember this

and look back at the times of bliss

close your eyes and sharply inhale

let your blood flow through, let your heart sail

and maybe just maybe, you'll still feel some kind of way

ans maybe just maybe you'd still want to stay
