What To Say? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

What To Say?

What to say?

It, to me, an expert, example
Is palm-full of sample

It is true; is real, is bitter.
It is the thing I have had.

It is result of hard work,
(The opium)

Equinox had just passed
Dark clouds had a dance
And rain fell like comets
Flood washed the desert
Took trees and the goats
Tepee-like hamlets of…
The Baluch, from palms…

It is of poverty…what to say?

I have seen, I have been
Ate with them and slept
I crossed the deserts…

City men, go, shut up
The people of palace
Kremlin to White House
Go, get lost, out of sight.

You shameless feminists
Masochists and sadists
Patriarchs, machinists
Go, get lost, out of sight.

I have seen, I have been
Ate with them and slept
I crossed many seas…

I adore the skies and stars
I love waves, love clouds
My gaze is to distance
I want shore, sandy lands.
