What Once Was Poem by Ray Hansell

What Once Was

Another day, another time
To think about what was once mine

A home that was lost
At a very high cost

A marriage that failed
All hope sailed

Into the dark of night
Where nothing is in sight

Children left with a broken home
A childhood lived with much unknown

What will the future hold in store
Who can really say anymore

No second chance to fix what's been broke
You can't take back words you spoke
