What Measure. Poem by Ryan Brodesser

What Measure.

Rating: 3.0

To what measure, the worth of a man?
Can it be weighed by scale?
How about a scientific truth?
VS the dollars of a wallet to make a sale?

What amount of dough is a worker weighed?
How many sweats equals a dime?
How many to trade?
How much can be asked, for a poor mans time?

Should we scale it up high?
Or set it base and low?
How about we say lies
Bribe you if you know

Hows about we settle in the middle?
And chip at the diamond within?
Encourage those we belittle
While objecting above the loathsome din
