What If Poem by Jean Gray

What If

What if the sun never shone upon my face,
And I couldn’t see the beauty of nature everyday,
The wind rustling, blowing the trees,
The new buds of flowers, growing from seeds,
The feel of the air as it caresses my skin,
The feel of excitement I hold within,
To be alive and feel blessed every day,
To know God is with me, showing me the way.

What if I never felt Gods grace,
To not know his love, his tenderness, his ways,
My life would be empty, dull and unkind,
The sun would not shine, I would be blind,
Blind from the beauty all around me,
The flowers, the sun, the wind blowing the trees,
God gives me a gift every day,
He lets me be here, he shows me the way.

What if I go to sleep now and never awake,
It wouldn’t matter, I wouldn’t be afraid,
He’d send his Mighty Angels while I was asleep,
They would pick me up gently and I’d begin to weep,
Weep from the joy of finally going home,
To feel Gods arms around me, holding me close,
The splendour of Heaven, the power of his love,
His gift to me from all that he does,
I am so thankful every day,
To say What if, only God showed me my way.
