Weak Bodies Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Weak Bodies

Weak bodies

Around ten, in wheelchairs
Sat by wall; in "Old Care."
Looking at cold outside,
Where ground was bride,
In white gown and proud.

In their eyes sat sunshine,
Making them look bright.

Weak bodies, thin, tender,
Were under the wild hair,
Heads compete in whiteness
With the sun's silver rays.

The lonely grandma's
Heart spoke in chest of
Expecting to kiss, hug
Her great, grandson.

Now, here, she and I,
Between us, fence, not wall.

I am in balcony,
Far away sits tree,
Feel being grandchild
And insist: "Go, kiss, hug! "

The tree's branches
Shake, shiver, in the air
As did hands of mothers
In that old and long care:
"Love you son, do take care."

Command is with warning:
"No hugging, no kissing! "

Feel lovers' names in mind
Stampede, dance, and wave
Against fences, borders:
"Love shows its strength
Whenever is oppressed."
