We Were Here Poem by Paul Reed

We Were Here

The mists lie sweetly on the grass

A stillness enters your soul

All our memories are still here

And will be forever;

When we speak there is silence

The gulls cry unheard

But we were once here

Here, where you stand now;

And we shall continue to be

Even though you cannot see us

For time cannot ever take away

That we were here.
