We’re Doomed To Say ‘goodbye’

Rating: 4.9

I dread the moment
When we’d have to say ‘goodbye’;
Tears rolling down our cheeks,
Us staring each other right in the eyes;

The earth beneath our feet
Would shake;
With a heavy heart,
We’d part our ways.

I dread the moment
When you’d turn to go;
I’d die a thousand deaths
In that moment alone;

How would I gather
The pieces of my shattered heart
Spread all over the place
Like autumn leaves—
Dry and dead?

I know this is a premature dread,
But I can feel this is our only fate;
Doomed! Doomed!
To part our ways.

Let us make the most of this time on hand;
Before our fate strikes us with a blow,
And reduces our love to a mere show
That would re-wind and re-play in our memories
All our life, way into eternity.

I am no prophet,
I am no seer;
But I have always sensed this fear,
Lurking and looming large
On the horizon;

Constantly reminding me that
We’re doomed to say ‘goodbye’.
