We Do Not Know How Never Will Be Poem by Shalom Freedman

We Do Not Know How Never Will Be

We do not know how Never will be
We cannot experience our own loss completely
What Nothing ultimately means
We have no consoling definition for
We did not asked to be born
And we are confronted with questions
Greater than our capacity for answering
We cannot experience our own loss completely
We cannot know what it is to never know ourselves again forever
But perhaps God will tell us nonetheless
Who and if we ultimately are.
